CONNECTING THE ELECTRIC BOILER CONTROL UNIT

It works as follows: each pole of the circuit breaker is connected to its own phase wire, which then goes to its own heating element.

The total power of the electric boiler is the sum of the powers of the heating elements located in the heat exchanger; if we turn off one of them with an automatic switch, the boiler’s performance drops by a third of the maximum.

The 12 kW ZOTA electric boiler we selected has three stages, each 4 kW respectively, the boiler can operate with a power of 4-8-12 kW, this is a very convenient way of adjustment.

When connecting an electric boiler to a three-phase electrical network, the order of phase rotation is not important, so you can connect the phase conductors to the boiler circuit breaker in any order. But I would advise sticking to the rule that the core colors always follow in alphabetical order:

1 – White conductor

2 – Brown conductor

3 – Black conductor

Now that electricity is supplied to the control unit, we connect it to the heating elements in the heat exchanger using the cable supplied.

I have already said that direct heating of water in this boiler model is carried out in a separate block, so now we will connect the electronic control unit with a block of heating elements - a heat exchanger.

Important features of the boiler operation

The GSM module can be built into all Zota models. It is not included in the standard equipment of the boiler, so it will have to be purchased separately. Installation and launch of the module is also ordered. The remote control can be installed in any room.

According to reviews from owners, Zota electric boilers are characterized by the following features of use:

  1. Calculation of the boiler by area. Often, electricity is overused precisely because the device’s performance was calculated incorrectly. The power calculation must be 10-15% greater than the actual need. Excessive supply causes the boiler to overheat and often blow out plugs in the room.
  2. Service maintenance. You cannot connect the GSM module yourself. To connect to the electrical network, you will also need to call a specialist. The service worker will also install the air temperature sensor. From time to time you will have to adjust the water sensor for hot water supply.

Instructions for use

The attached instructions for the ZOTA electric boiler will allow you to quickly complete installation and carry out initial setup. Before connecting the boiler, preparatory work is carried out. If the device’s power is more than 3 kW, a separate electrical line is laid to it

. It is not necessary to install an RCD, since almost all models have it (if not, select a machine that is suitable in terms of current and voltage).

When choosing a place to install a ZOTA electric boiler, you need to make sure that there is no water vapor or aggressive gases in the room, and that the air temperature is in the range from +1 to +30 degrees. Simple tap water or a special non-freezing liquid is used as a coolant. The boilers are installed strictly vertically. When connecting equipment to the electrical network, it is necessary to provide grounding - it is connected to boilers and pipes.

Installation of ZOTA boilers is carried out according to the attached instructions - maintaining the distance to the ceilings, floors and adjacent walls. The device must be in such a position that there are no obstacles to its cooling (natural ventilation is used here). At the last stage, the boiler is connected to the heating system. Next, a leak test and a test run are carried out.

Remember that the pressure in the heating system should not exceed the parameters specified in the passport. Otherwise, equipment damage may occur.

Electrical installation in a single-phase network

As we have already said, you can connect the water heater to a single-phase network through a plug or a separately powered cable. There is no point in even stopping at the first option, because... Anyone can insert a plug into a socket.

As for the second option, first you need to carry out (if the required diameter of the cores is not indicated in the product passport), and then bring the conductor to the place. Then everything is simple - we connect the phase, neutral and grounding to the corresponding terminals in the unit (they are marked on them).
