Technical characteristics and features of insulation for energoflex pipes

Wide range - for different purposes

In addition to the basic modification, the range of pipe insulation from this manufacturer includes many other subtypes with excellent technical characteristics, designed for various purposes.
Among them: Energoflex Super SK. Hollow pipes made of polyethylene foam, the structure of which contains an adhesive seam, which greatly facilitates and speeds up installation work.

Energoflex Super Protect. Sheet rolled thermal insulation made of foamed polyethylene is used to insulate various structures, including shut-off valves and large-diameter pipes. Produced with an external protective polymer coating of special strength. Primarily intended for insulating heating and water supply pipes running inside walls and floors.

Energoflex Super Al. Rolled thermal insulating foil material for protecting heating, water supply, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The reflective layer of aluminum foil provides a high coefficient of heat reflection (about 90%).

Energoflex Super TP. Designed primarily for use in the installation of underfloor heating systems. A protective polymer coating provides strength and chemical resistance to mounting compounds, and a layer of aluminum foil ensures uniform heat distribution.

Energoflex Black Star. This flexible tube is used for thermal insulation of copper pipelines used in air conditioning systems. It does not have a cut in the design, but it fits onto copper tubes quite easily.

Energoflex Black Star Split. The purpose of these pipes is similar, but this modification is equipped with a durable protective polymer layer that is resistant to sunlight, which allows it to be used even outdoors.

Energoflex Black Star Duct. This type of polyethylene foam isolate has a self-adhesive layer at the base. Mainly used in air conditioning and ventilation systems, for large diameter pipes. Its technical characteristics make it possible to significantly reduce noise and structural vibrations.

Several years ago, these insulation products could be called a real technical breakthrough. They are made of modern materials, environmentally friendly, easy to install and reliable in operation, have a set of properties corresponding to the field of use, and are able to satisfy almost any consumer needs.

Using polyethylene thermal insulators from the Energoflex line, you can protect any communications from various harmful influences: from sewerage and ventilation to water supply and heating. And, in addition, where necessary, noise, vibration, and the impact of aggressive conditions will be reduced. Which, ultimately, will ensure a long service life of all communications in the house, and will make the living of its owners comfortable and cozy.

Features of K-Flex thermal insulation and scope of application

K-Flex is used for insulation of communications in industrial and social projects. Materials used for insulation:

  • sewer and water supply networks;
  • heating networks (external and internal);
  • air conditioning systems and ventilation devices;
  • main oil and gas pipelines;
  • low-temperature tubes of refrigeration units.

K-Flex is used in social facilities with specific fire safety requirements. These include schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and industrial production that use hazardous substances in their work.

Insulation of pipes using K-Flex

Installation of the material is carried out without the use of additional fasteners and waterproofing devices. This reduces the cost of installation and makes it quite simple.

K Flex materials are used due to their technical features:

  • low thermal conductivity. This property is facilitated by the structure of the product (the presence of cells) and their small size. The material has optimal proportions of mass and volume;
  • long period of operation;
  • steam and water resistance. The material resembles polyethylene film, which is sometimes used for additional vapor barrier of utility lines, but is slightly thicker. This property interferes with oxidative processes on the surface of the pipes;
  • maintaining its technical parameters for a long time;
  • the presence of fire retardants in the composition, which prevents the rapid spread of fire;
  • the product is environmentally friendly, has no unpleasant odor and does not emit harmful substances during operation;
  • has a fairly high cost, but in terms of price-quality ratio it is an excellent choice of insulation;
  • the material is quite elastic, which allows it to be used in a wide temperature range (from +70°C to -110°C) and provides good adhesion to the surface;
  • stops the development of mold and harmful microorganisms on the surface of pipes and is resistant to atmospheric conditions.

The listed technical characteristics of the thermal insulation material greatly simplify the process of installing the material on hard-to-reach surfaces and make the insulation of communications effective.

Energoflex Black Star Dact and Black Star Dact Al

This is a black self-adhesive roll material designed for heat and sound insulation of pipes in climate control equipment and air exhaust systems.

It is characterized by increased elasticity and resistance to mechanical damage, and high vapor barrier properties. It is an effective noise insulator and vibration compensator.

The Duct AL marking indicates that on one side of the insulation there is a coating of polished aluminum foil. The release form is a roll 1.2 m wide, resembling a plastic bag.

Energoflex TP will help you quickly and effectively insulate heated floors and make them even more comfortable

Step by step instructions

Placement of insulating materials is possible on ready-made highways and individual branches. If the pipes have not yet been laid, the insulation is put on the contours, the ends of the tubular insulation are glued together, and the upper joints are covered with film. It is necessary to prevent stretching of the material, which will affect performance characteristics.

If the line has already been installed, the lines running along the Energoflex tube deserve special attention, which determines the possibility of creating a cut along the entire pipe. Then the tube is unrolled and put on the contours, then the area where the cut is made is glued and fastened similarly to the joints of individual tubes.

To create shaped parts, 2 wedge-shaped cuts are made on the tubes at an angle of 45 degrees. Here you will need a wort to get more accurate angles. Glue is applied to all edges of the cutout. The resulting product is bent at a given angle.

When creating tees, a section of the insulating tube is cut into 2 parts. In one, a wedge-shaped cutout is made in compliance with a right angle, its diameter corresponds to the circumference of the contour itself. The edge of the second part is cut on both sides at an angle of 45 degrees. Glue is applied to the connecting areas and connected. The resulting tees are cut and put on the insulated pipeline. The seams are glued and secured with self-adhesive tape.

Black Star Dact and Black Star Dact Al

The insulator is designed for heat and sound insulation of ventilation ducts, air ducts, as well as pipes with large diameters. Insulation dimensions: width – 120 cm, length – 5, 7, 10, 20, 30 m. A self-adhesive layer with an adhesion coefficient to a metal surface of 600 g/cm simplifies installation on pipes of various shapes.

The Dakt Al insulator has an aluminum layer that has a shielding effect. It is distinguished by increased elasticity, high vapor barrier properties, and resistance to mechanical damage. Excellent noise and vibration absorption.

Installation nuances

Installation work on the Energoflex insulator should be carried out exclusively on non-functioning equipment and non-functioning pipelines. After the thermal insulation has been installed, at least 24 hours must pass before the equipment can be resumed.

Work with self-adhesive materials should be carried out at a temperature not lower than +5°C. At a lower temperature, they will not be able to seal at the proper level.

Energoflex Black Star tubes and rolls

*

A product designed for insulating copper parts. It has a number of advantages that allow it to coexist with copper more effectively. The material perfectly absorbs moisture and has a high level of diffusion resistance. This completely removes condensation, which usually becomes the main cause of rust.

Characteristics of Energoflex Black Star:

Energofleks heat insulator: release form and installation

Energoflex is available in several form factors:

  • tubes that fit directly onto pipes are available in different diameters from 18 to 160 mm, up to 2 m long;
  • in the form of rolls - the material is wound onto pipes, wrapped around and fastened with special glue.

To install Energoflex, in addition to the heat-insulating material itself, you also need to have glue, with which the individual elements of the heat-insulating material are held together, and Energoflex tape. The tape is produced in rolls, its function is to cover the joint of pipes of glued insulation pipes (if pipe insulation is used).

Thermal insulation of the pipeline can be carried out both on installed pipes and on individual elements. If the pipeline has not yet been installed, then installing the insulation is very simple - the Energoflex tube is simply put on the pipe, the ends of the tubes are glued together, and the joints on top are sealed with film. In this case, care should be taken to ensure that the material does not stretch - this will affect the performance characteristics of the heat insulator.

Installation features of Energoflex

When installing, pay attention to the following details:

  • the ends of the tubes and cut lines must be degreased and cleaned, free from dust and dirt;
  • glue must be applied to both surfaces to be glued, and not to one;
  • when installing insulation, the temperature regime must be observed - the ambient temperature should not exceed 5°C;
  • before connecting the tubes, you need to wait at least 5 minutes (apply glue and wait time, only then glue);
  • if pipeline elements are fastened by welding, Energoflex can be put on only after the welds have completely cooled, and do not keep the insulation too close to the welding site.

In general, Energoflex was and remains an easy-to-use and install material, the improvement of which does not stand still. Already, some manufacturers are producing material for thermal insulation of external pipelines using reinforced foil.

Energoflex Super tubes and rolls

Energoflex Super
The most common type of insulation, which is suitable for almost any job. Usually supplied in the form of Energoflex super tubes with a length of 1 to 2 meters. The diameter varies from 15 to 42 mm. The wall thickness always remains the same: 9 mm.

If you need to insulate areas with a large diameter, you can purchase the material in the form of a roll. This will allow you not to limit yourself while working. Such materials are fixed to the surface using a special glue, which also serves as thermal insulation for pipeline insulation. The table below shows the main characteristics of this variety:

*

Insulation dimensions

The material can be used both indoors and outdoors. The internal diameter size ranges from 6 to 160 mm. The second important parameter is wall thickness. The minimum value is 6 mm, and the maximum is 20 mm. The length of the tubes starts from 1.2 meters and ends at 11 meters.

Typical specifications for 2 meter Energoflex Super tubes are shown in the size tables. First part:

Energoflex material is one of the best insulation options for communication pipes both indoors and outdoors. A wide range allows you to choose the appropriate option for any engineering system. High quality insulation. It has a long service life.

Carrying out installation

The workflow is not too complicated, but requires following instructions. You must first view the size table to select a material with the required diameter for working with copper or steel pipes (in different situations).

You will need a set of tools - a measuring tape, a knife, a pencil or pen for marking, a miter box (a carpentry tool for precise cutting, cutting), a hard brush, Energoflex tape and glue.

If the pipeline has not yet been assembled, the following steps will be required:

  • the tubular product should be carefully pulled onto the pipe;
  • if the length of the thermal insulation is not enough, another cylinder is used, which is connected to the first one with glue;
  • The joints of the thermal insulation are glued with connecting tape.

When the pipeline is installed, the heat-insulating cylinder is cut along the cut line, put on the pipe and treated with glue and tape.

Thermal insulation must be prepared in advance, the pipe ends must be cleaned and degreased, and glue must be applied to both surfaces. The connection must be made 3-4 minutes after applying the adhesive layer. The air temperature must be at least +5 degrees.

This is how quick and easy it is to install Energoflex thermal insulation. Moreover, this is durable protection and high quality of service. The main thing is to follow the instructions and follow the important rules for connecting all materials.

To learn how to properly insulate the corners of a pipeline, see the following video.

Selection table for thermal insulation sizes for plastic, steel and copper pipes

We present for you a table for selecting thermal insulation brands: - K-Flex, Armaflex, Kaiflex (synthetic rubber); — Thermaflex, Energoflex, Tilit (potiethylene); - Rockwool, Paroc (mineral wool cylinders), and similar brands for copper, steel and plastic pipes. Print it out and keep it “at hand” so as not to make a mistake in choosing thermal insulation.

Please note that in the specifications, pipe diameters, depending on their type, are indicated in different ways, i.e. as a rule, steel pipes up to 50 DN (nominal diameter) are indicated as DN

, and after 50Du it is already in
Dn
(outer diameter),
but this is not always the case
, it all depends on the designer who did the project.

The standard size of the pipe can be indicated in nominal diameter or outer diameter, in millimeters or inches, but the standard size of thermal insulation is always indicated in millimeters

, and
its internal diameter is indicated,
the thickness of the insulation and sometimes its length are also indicated.

Example: K-Flex ST 09×048-2

(where
09
is the insulation thickness in mm,
048
is the outer diameter of the pipe in mm,
2
is the length of the heat-insulating tube equal to 2 meters)

For reference:

*Dn is a “conditional pass” used when calculating system parameters. For example, such as pressure, consumption, drain, flow, etc., i.e. internal diameter of the pipe.

Since often high pressure in the system is not required, the wall thickness is reduced to save metal, and, conversely, for high pressure or for threaded connections, the wall thickness is increased.

The diameter of the pipeline is called conditional, because There are also pipes with a non-circular cross-section, such as square. In this case, the conditional passage for such a pipeline through the cross-sectional area of a specific pipe is calculated, the calculation is reduced to the formula for the area of a round pipe and accepted for further calculations as if the pipe was round and had such and such a nominal diameter. In pipes with a round cross-section DN

–The nominal bore simply coincides with the internal diameter of the pipe.

Steel pipes are indicated in nominal diameters, usually up to size 50, then it is customary to indicate the outer diameters of the pipes. For plastic pipes, outer diameters are indicated.

Technical insulation supplied in the form of foamed tubes (also available in the form of rolls) is produced in standard sizes that take into account D out - the outer diameters of the pipes (do not confuse with Dу - the nominal diameters) of the pipes.

Example:

The specification indicates a pipe with a diameter of DN 20, with a thermal insulation layer of 9 mm.

Where to buy insulation?

Please note, if you have a steel

pipe DN 20, then, taking into account the wall thickness, its outer diameter will be about 28 mm, therefore, choose the thermal insulation size
28x09,
and if a copper pipe DN 20 is used, its outer diameter will be about 22 mm, choose the thermal insulation size 22x09
(
9 mm thickness of the thermal insulation layer)

New generation insulation material

This is undoubtedly true. Energoflex flexible pipe thermal insulation is designed specifically for insulation of hot and cold water supply, sewerage, air conditioning, ventilation systems and others. This technical insulation provides effective protection against temperature changes, pipe freezing, and moisture condensation, while reducing structural vibrations.

The basis of such insulation is polyethylene foam, which is mixed under pressure with a propane-butane mixture. The result is a material with a porous structure, with closed pores filled with air. Its technical characteristics allow you to protect communications reliably and for a long time.

Energoflex Acoustic tubes

Energoflex pipe insulation - properties and price

With rising energy prices, various energy saving methods are being introduced everywhere. One of these methods is the insulation of water supply, heating pipes and other systems.

Previously, before the advent of the specialized material for thermal insulation Enegoflex, this was not an easy task. Energoflex still has no equal on the market in terms of quality among products for thermal insulation made of foamed polyethylene. Combining many useful properties, it is unique in its kind.

Why Energoflex?

Energoflex is a porous insulation made from foamed polyethylene, which has excellent thermal insulation properties and other advantages. It is valued for its unique flexibility, waterproofness and durability.

There are good reasons to consider Energoflex an ideal solution for pipes:

  1. Minimal heat loss due to foamed polyethylene is due to its porous structure. Closed cells are filled with air, which significantly reduces thermal conductivity and prevents the coolant from freezing,
  2. Water and vapor impermeability makes it both heat and waterproofing, condensate protection and subsequent corrosion protection,
  3. The sound-absorbing qualities of Energoflex reduce the degree of structural and impact noise,
  4. The flexibility and elasticity of polyethylene makes these tubes easy to use and easy to install even in problem areas,
  5. Durability of the material due to chemical resistance to aggressive substances and external influences,
  6. The tubular shape is designed specifically for pipes. Many modifications with various complementary properties (cut, polymer coating, etc.) allow you to choose the most suitable type of Energoflex for the job,

That is why Energoflex has found wide application in insulating heating, plumbing and other systems. It provides maximum thermal insulation, which together with water resistance gives an excellent result. Energoflex will protect hot pipes from heat loss, cold pipes from condensation and freezing, due to the fact that it does not allow steam to pass through.

Scope of application of Energoflex insulation

Energoflex pipe insulation is produced in two versions - rolled and tubular, so it can be used as a universal insulation.

The Energoflex product range satisfies the most diverse needs of thermal insulation installation:

  • Hot and cold water supply systems,
  • Heating systems,
  • Ventilation and air conditioning systems,
  • Sewerage,
  • Electronics, refrigeration equipment and much more.

It is important to know: the maximum temperature that Energoflex can withstand is 100 °C. This must be taken into account when working with the heating system; such insulation is used for internal water supply and heating networks,

Types of Energoflex insulation

A wide range of products has been developed for ease of use of this insulation in a wide variety of areas.

Material advantages

Advantages of thermal insulation
It is not for nothing that Energoflex insulation ranks first in the list of the most effective thermal insulating materials for pipes. It has a number of advantages that make it stand out from its analogues. But do not forget about the main functions that any insulation performs:

  • Protection of the pipe from corrosion, which is a consequence of the harmful effects of external factors (condensation, rain, precipitation, etc.);
  • Temperature regulation in winter. It is necessary in order to avoid freezing of the water pipe with subsequent rupture due to ice expansion.
  • Reducing heat loss in parts of heating systems that are located outside.

But in addition to these standard functions, Energoflex surprises with a number of advantages that are not typical for many insulation materials:

  • resistance to various chemical influences;
  • prevents the development of bacteria;
  • excellent strength indicators, which eliminate the need for additional pipe protection;
  • ease of installation, which does not require special knowledge and skills;
  • environmentally friendly;
  • safety for human health;
  • no toxins;
  • high level of corrosion protection;
  • high flammability class, minimizing the likelihood of ignition;
  • the ability to reduce energy and resource consumption;
  • maintaining the required temperature in the pipes.

Important! Energoflex has a fairly wide range of operating temperatures. The material functions well at temperatures from -40 to 100 degrees. At the same time, all properties and characteristics remain at the same level.

One of the main advantages is a large range of materials for various needs. You can find insulation from the manufacturer for insulation of water supply, sewerage, heating or ventilation pipes. The required diameter of Energoflex pipes is always available.

What are the advantages of such isolation?

This insulation has a number of characteristics that place it among the best materials:

  • lightness and plasticity;
  • resistance to deformation and mechanical damage;
  • moderate flammability (flammability group G2);
  • temperature conditions of use - from - 40 to = 95 degrees;
  • reduction of structural noise;
  • resistance to aggressive environments such as lime, concrete, cement, stone, gypsum;
  • increased strength;
  • zero hygroscopicity (does not absorb moisture);
  • rot resistance;
  • durability;
  • ease of installation: the presence of longitudinal cuts (often with a self-adhesive layer) makes installation quick and convenient.

Among other things, energyflex is an environmentally friendly material. When working with it, the use of personal protective equipment is not required. All this provides ample opportunities for using this insulation during installation work.

However, it has one negative characteristic: it is sensitive to sunlight. Like any polyethylene, Energoflex is afraid of ultraviolet radiation. Therefore, for use in outdoor conditions, the manufacturer produces a type of thermal insulation with a special layer of polymer protection.

About the heat insulator

More than fifteen years ago, the world first learned about the launch of Russian production of high-quality insulators based on polyethylene foam. The products were immediately certified, not only by domestic quality certificates, but also by international ISO.

The presented Energoflex heat insulator is one of the best options in its price range, it has impeccable performance qualities and meets high requirements:

  • good level of fire safety;
  • low thermal conductivity;
  • high resistance to moisture;
  • noise insulation properties;
  • rot resistance;
  • safety when working with the material.

Specifications

Technical characteristics of thermal insulation
The material is made from environmentally friendly components that do not pose a threat to humans. They do not emit any toxins and are not a breeding ground for bacteria.

The description of the energy flex and its characteristics are presented in the table below:

Energoflex, whose technical characteristics are indicated above, is very resistant to biological threats, representing a rather unfavorable environment for the development of bacteria and rotting. During operation, the material does not change its shape and size even under strong external influences. Separately, it is worth noting the good soundproofing qualities of the material.

The substance comes in the form of a soft, elastic material that is fairly light in weight. Even one worker can handle the installation of insulation.

Research

The reliability and effectiveness of this material can be beyond doubt. The technical characteristics are confirmed by tests in the laboratory of the Mosstroy Research Institute and other institutes involved in insulation issues.

Due to its high performance characteristics and a wider range of uses, this material has forced foreign analogues out of the market. It is currently used by most Russian construction companies.

Qualities

Energyflex thermal insulation meets all requirements regarding the efficiency of heat conservation. This material is non-flammable, has the ability to “breathe”, does not filter the air space from dirt and dust, is durable, and is easy to install. It has excellent environmental performance - it does not contain harmful impurities or substances.

It has acceptable mechanical strength, has minimal water absorption, and is capable of equally effectively performing its main function in different, including aggressive, environments at high negative and positive temperatures.

The maximum effect is achieved when using perforated polyethylene foam together with protective membranes, which have already become traditional mineral wool, which is laid in strips along the perimeter of the overlapping polyethylene foam layers.

Types of "Energoflex"

Energoflex is used in many areas, so it is produced in several forms. The choice of suitable material depends on the functions that it will need to perform.

  • Tubes with different lengths, thicknesses and diameters. Protect pipelines from corrosion and reduce heat loss in communications.
  • Roll material. Available with or without foil coating. Most often used for underfloor heating systems.
  • Self-adhesive tape. Manufactured in roll form. Used for sealing joints and finishing air ducts.
  • Leaf product. Used for coating fittings, tanks, pipelines with large diameters.
  • Insulation boards. Some modifications are available with foil coating. They insulate both floors and communication systems.

What is this insulation used for?

Of course, the purpose of any insulation is to protect. Modern materials made from foamed polyethylene protect pipes from many harmful factors:

  • heat loss from external heating pipes;
  • corrosion of metal structures;
  • freezing, and as a result - bursts of water pipes in winter;
  • overheating of ventilation systems.

This thermal insulation is produced in the form of pipes, slabs, sheets and rolls of various thicknesses and diameters, which makes it easier to choose a modification for each specific case.

Purposes of application

Energoflex is used for various purposes, in each of which it manifests itself as a very thoughtful and effective material. Let's look at known uses.

Reduced heat loss

Reducing heat loss
Energoflex is thermal insulation, which means this is precisely its function. When applied, the material allows you to maintain for a long time the temperature that is necessary for the transferring liquid or gas. Energy losses are reduced, which reduces the consumption of all resources that are designed to heat water. So heating and hot water supply will be very efficient.

When working on thermal insulation yourself, it is important to remember that only those pipes that are not located directly in the heated room need to be protected. So all heating fittings in the basement or outside can be insulated

The rule is due to the fact that unprotected pipes heat rooms by transferring heat to the environment.

Insulating pipes that are parts of hot water supply or heating systems seems quite logical. But is it necessary to insulate sewer outlets? To answer this question, we need to consider where exactly these pipes go. If they are not buried deep enough and touch the area where the soil freezes, then insulation must be done. Only in this case will it be possible to achieve full provision with all the amenities necessary for life.

Fighting condensation

Fighting condensation
Condensation can cause home owners no less problems than freezing of a pipeline. It appears to be the result of an increase in air humidity with temperature changes. Small droplets begin to accumulate in water supply areas, which can lead to corrosion or destruction of the material. This is exactly what happens to many cold water pipes in the summer. The temperature difference between inside and outside does not pass without leaving a trace, but is transformed into drops of water.

In addition to corrosion, other unpleasant consequences may also occur. For example, puddles under pipes that form due to prolonged formation of condensation. Such operation significantly reduces the service life of products, making them more vulnerable to other environmental influences.

To avoid all the unpleasant consequences of condensation, it is recommended that all cold water supply pipes be insulated using heat-insulating materials. It is best to use Energoflex insulation. Additional polypropylene fittings may be required for installation.

Noise protection

Protection from noise
Replacing sewer pipes from cast iron to plastic led to the appearance of a booming sound that accompanied the operation of all drainage systems. And this sound was capable of causing quite a lot of inconvenience to all the inhabitants of the houses. The situation was analyzed and experts came to not the most comforting conclusions. Since plastic sewerage was made from pipes with a thinner wall thickness, and the material itself had a much lower density compared to cast iron, the sound travels much faster. At the same time, all the noise is reflected repeatedly from the surface of the pipes, constantly increasing the volume. The result is a loud hum, which can easily disturb the quiet life in the house.

In order to reduce the impact of noise on life, it is recommended to use Energoflex insulation. The company offers special materials with enhanced sound insulation properties. Also effective in this case is conventional roll insulation, attached to pipes with glue. Sometimes the manufacturer applies glue to one of the surfaces in advance, so the builder only needs to properly secure the material to the pipe.

Preparation for installation

Since Energoflex pipe insulation is most often used, in the article we will give an example of the installation of this particular type of material. Before you begin installing it, you should study several rules that must be observed during the work process.

  1. The air temperature must be above 0°.
  2. The surfaces on which the thermal insulation layer will be laid must be free of dirt and grease.
  3. If Energoflex insulation is installed for pipes, the system should be turned off and started 24 hours after completion of work.
  4. If more than one layer of material is laid, it is necessary to carefully monitor the overlap of the seams.
  5. Initially, fittings and fittings should be insulated, and then even sections of the pipeline.

To install thermal insulation you will need the following tools:

  • ruler, compass, protractor;
  • punch;
  • knife;
  • marker;
  • brush.

What types of Energoflex are there?

This insulating material is used in various fields, which is why it is produced in several types. In order to choose the right material and not make a mistake, you need to know exactly for what purpose it will be used.

  • tubes of different diameters and technical characteristics. Prevents rust from appearing on the pipeline and retains heat well; - rolled material. It is made with an outer foil coating, but can also be made without such a coating. Often used directly for floor insulation;
  • tape that is used without glue. Produced in roll form. Used for finishing hoods;
  • sheet material. Used for insulating fittings and pipelines that have a fairly large diameter;
  • insulation consisting of plates. Sometimes such insulation, just like rolled insulation, can be covered with foil. Such insulation is often laid on the floor or used to insulate water supply systems.

How much will it cost?

In general, the cost of such material as Energoflex is quite lower compared to other similar insulation materials. The price will be influenced by a number of factors. For example, such as: the very structure of the produced material; its technical indicators; form of production. The price will, of course, be greatly influenced by the size of the material desired. Since Energoflex is most often sold in sets, the price will directly depend on its main components.

Energoflex insulation

Direct preparation for installation

Since pipe insulation with the help of Energoflex is more common than anything else, consider installing this material on pipes. Before proceeding directly to the installation, you need to analyze several rules necessary for work, which will be very useful in your work: 1. The temperature during installation in the room where the work is being carried out should be no more than 0; 2. The surface that will be insulated in the future must be pre-prepared, that is, cleaned and wiped of grease; 3. When installing material on pipes, before starting work, you need to turn off the system and turn it on only after 24 hours after completion of work; 4. If more than one layer of material is used, you need to cover the seams well and carefully monitor this; 5. From the very beginning of work, it is necessary to insulate the reinforcement. List of tools required for work:

  • ruler for measuring, of course it is better to use a ruler of good length;
  • punch;
  • stationery knife;
  • black felt-tip pen;
  • brush with good bristles.

Installation of K Flex insulation

Insulation of pipes with this material is carried out taking into account clear requirements:

  • Work should be carried out at an ambient temperature of at least +5°C
  • apply insulation adhesive to a degreased surface;
  • clean the insulated communications from dirt, dust and rust.

Surface cleaning should be carried out with materials intended for this purpose. If you use some improvised means, the insulation may not stick to the entire required surface.

Direct installation of insulation is carried out in the following sequence:

A thin layer of glue is applied to the cleaned, pre-degreased dry surface of the pipe and to the insulation itself. Adhesive consumption – 0.15 liters per 1 sq.

m area; when the glue hardens during work, it is diluted with a special k-flex cleaner; if you choose insulation with a self-adhesive surface, the above steps can be omitted; the glue should dry for 3-5 minutes, after which the insulation is directly installed on the surface of the pipe; if the product is in the form of a sheet, the installation is carried out in such a way that its middle falls on the top of the pipe; the insulation, in the form of a tube, is carefully cut lengthwise and installed on the pipe.

Installation of K-Flex materials is quite simple, and even a beginner in thermal insulation work can install it themselves. At the same time, it provides reliable protection against exposure to cold air. The insulation has sufficient flexibility, which allows it to insulate pipelines of any configuration.

Bottom line
