Danko gas boiler and its technical characteristics

Today, natural or liquefied gas is the most common and affordable means used by many city residents to heat their apartments. Installation of gas equipment should only be carried out by an experienced specialist. Before installation, it is necessary to prepare a package of necessary documentation and obtain permission to equip such a heat supply system.

It is also important to choose a good boiler. European units are expensive. An excellent alternative to them are Danko gas boilers made in Ukraine. The equipment is much cheaper, but the quality is high. Therefore, the article will discuss Danko boilers in more detail.

Distinctive features of Danko gas boilers

The Danko company positions itself as a manufacturer of high-quality gas boilers at an affordable cost. Since cast iron is a reliable and durable material, Ukrainian manufacturers decided to place parts and components made using modern technology into a regular cast iron body. Thanks to this, the Danko gas boiler has a long service life. The unit can serve properly for 25 years. And this is 10 years longer than its steel counterparts.

In addition, the price of Danko gas boilers is very affordable. The unit can be purchased for only 10,000-15,000 rubles. Ukrainian manufacturers are constantly working to improve the quality and appearance of their products.

Thanks to its attractive design and reduced dimensions, the device fits perfectly into any room interior.

It is also worth noting that reviews of Danko gas heating boilers are mostly positive. Many users note such an advantage as the ability to combine Danko boilers with cast iron batteries.

Therefore, if the old batteries are in good condition, then there is no need to change them. To produce boilers, Danko uses only modern equipment from Denmark, Finland and Japan. All models are equipped with an independent temperature control system and equipped with safety devices. There are a lot of people who want to buy a Danko gas boiler. And these are not only residents of Ukraine. The products are also very popular in the CIS countries.

Technical specifications

All Danko gas boilers whose technical characteristics are distinguished by high performance are very easy to repair, equipment installation is quick and simple, and operation is simple and convenient. Installation does not require complex connections. This is achieved thanks to the presence of automation, which greatly simplifies the entire process of setting up the boiler apparatus. Modern models have the highest level of efficiency.

The height of the device is slightly reduced. This makes it possible to place boilers on a level with kitchen furniture. Manufacturers are also constantly improving technical parameters. Modern models have improved draft, which allows for better removal of combustion products. In addition, equipment warms up much faster now, and less fuel is consumed. The heat exchanger is reliable.

Boilers manufactured by Danko are adapted to domestic conditions of use. When looking at Danko gas boiler reviews, price and high quality are among the first advantages of this unit.

Types of boilers

Depending on the functional characteristics, gas appliances from the Ukrainian manufacturer Danko are divided into wall-mounted, floor-mounted and parapet models, which in turn can be single-circuit or double-circuit. Each type has its own characteristics. The power of wall-mounted models is from 8 kW.

There are single-circuit and double-circuit products. For example, the Danko wall-mounted single-circuit gas boiler is lightweight and compact compared to its floor-standing counterpart. This device is used for heating small rooms (up to 300 sq.m.). Double-circuit options not only supply the room with heat, but also heat water for domestic purposes. Thanks to this, there is no need to additionally purchase a water heating boiler.

But the Danko floor-standing gas boiler is a more powerful unit compared to the wall-mounted type. The power indicator ranges from 8 to 24 kW. The gas inlet can be horizontal or vertical.

Each of the models has a special security system.

Parapet boilers are equipped with a water heating option. They have a sealed combustion chamber. In addition, there is the possibility of universal connection. This type of boiler can be classified as a chimney boiler. There is automation. Power is 7-15.5 kW. A series of parapet boilers is designed to heat a room whose area is in the range of 60-140 sq.m.

Which type to choose: a Danko single-circuit floor-standing gas boiler or a double-circuit one, it all depends on where the house is located and on the area that needs to be heated.

Danko boiler

The Ukrainian brand Danko is known primarily for gas boilers. A clear advantage is their low cost. The range also includes parapet gas boilers, installed in private houses or apartments where it is not possible to install a chimney.

In the article we will look at the best models of Danko gas boilers, how they behave in practice, what advantages and disadvantages the owners note, as well as what malfunctions may arise during the operation of boiler units in real conditions.

About the manufacturer

The Danko trademark is managed by PJSC Agroresurs; the first batch of boiler units was produced in 2002. The company is represented in the markets of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Moldova, where it has established itself as a manufacturer of relatively reliable and efficient gas boiler units for their price. It’s not uncommon to find the first batches of 2002 in homes.

The design and principle of operation of Danko gas boilers in a section using the example of a double-circuit steel model 12VSR.

Heating boilers are produced using modern foreign equipment, automation is imported from Italy in finished form. Almost all boiler units have high efficiency - over 90%. However, there are also disadvantages - the assembly is of insufficient quality, problems with the automation are possible during operation, due to the simplicity of the device and low cost, the boilers do not have a wide range of functionality or a set of protective systems. Installers note the relative complexity of installation and connection.

In practice, during strong gusts of wind in versions with a horizontal gas duct, the burner often blows out and the flame goes out, but the automation does an excellent job and turns off the gas supply. After this, the boiler must be ignited manually. The above-described disadvantages are typical for any inexpensive boilers of Russian, Ukrainian or Belarusian production.

Owner reviews of Danko gas boilers: advantages and disadvantages

AdvantagesFlaws
Affordable, not high costNoisy operation, especially in comparison with models from foreign manufacturers
Reliability - in practice, it is not uncommon to see cases of operation for more than 8, 12 and even 15 yearsModifications with a horizontal flue suggest the possibility of flame extinction in strong winds
High technical characteristics and efficiencyRegular cleaning and maintenance required (at least annually). If there is no cleaning, problems with the automation may occur.
Energy independence – equipment operates regardless of the availability of electricity.According to reviews from owners, double-circuit models, with high water consumption, do not always cope with its heating
Economical - in models with a power of up to 20 kW, gas consumption is in the range of 0.8-1.7 cubic meters. m/hour
The range includes models with a cast iron heat exchanger, the service life of which is more than 25 years. In other models it is made of stainless steel
Due to the simplicity of design and automation, they are easy to use

The best and most famous models: characteristics and prices

8C

Low-power 8 kW single-circuit floor-standing boiler, one of the most inexpensive in price. Designed for a house with an area of up to 70-80 m2. The design and principle of operation of the model are as simple as possible: open combustion chamber, steel heat exchanger (C in the name), SIT automation (Italy).

The boiler has a high efficiency of 92% and a particularly low gas consumption - 0.9 cubic meters. m/hour. Unlike other models, it is equipped with a vertical gas duct, which prevents the burner from being blown out by the wind. The only protection is to prevent overheating and gas control.

Cost on average 18,000 rubles .

12VSR

A double-circuit floor-standing boiler with a power of 12 kW, designed for heating a house with an area of up to 120-130 m2. This is one of the best Danko boilers for heating a private house.

It is distinguished by the presence of a second circuit, that is, water heating (B in the name), hot water productivity at a temperature of 35°C is 4.93 l/min. The volume of hot water supply is sufficient for a single consumption; for more intensive use (eg bathing and kitchen tap at the same time), the power may not be enough. It has a steel heat exchanger and is capable of operating not only on natural gas, but also on liquefied bottled gas (P in the name).

Efficiency is 91.5%, and natural gas consumption is 1 cubic meter. m/hour. The boiler is energy-independent, the gas outlet is organized vertically, which greatly reduces the risk of blowing out and subsequent attenuation. The disadvantages are also the loud ignition sound, lack of auto-ignition and flame modulation, however, for such a price, these functions are rarely found on dual-circuit models.

Cost – 24,000 rubles .

Review of Siberia gas boilers One of the most reliable among domestic boilers

12.5US

An improved parapet boiler with a power of 12.5 kW is designed for installation not only in private houses, but also in apartments.

Parapet boiler systems have a closed (sealed) combustion chamber and do not require connection to a traditional chimney. They can be installed in any room where there is at least one external wall, through which a side coaxial chimney (pipe within a pipe) is subsequently discharged. It is installed in the apartment in the window sill and requires only a gas pipeline, since it is energy independent.

Gas consumption 1.4 cubic meters. m/hour is optimal for this power and price category, although higher than the classic convection models 12BP or 12P. One of the few truly quiet Danko boilers. Apart from the dubious build quality and narrow functionality, no shortcomings were found due to the practice of use.

Cost – 24 thousand rubles .

Is it worth considering parapet gas boilers for heating a private home?

16HP

Cast iron single-circuit boiler with a power of 16 kW, designed for heating a house with an area of up to 150 sq. m. A cast iron heat exchanger is usually used in more expensive modern models and has a significantly longer service life - over 25 years. It takes longer to heat up, but it also takes much longer to cool down, continuing to give off heat even after the burner is turned off.

Gas consumption is not outstanding, but optimal 1.9 cubic meters. m/hour, and efficiency is 90%. The disadvantages are the absence of any automatic protection systems and the significant weight of the heating unit - 97 kg. The cost of a boiler is on average 34-37 thousand rubles. , which is still significantly lower than foreign analogues, prices for which start from 45-49 thousand rubles.

Official website: where to view all models and operating instructions

A snapshot of the website of the official representative in Russia.

In Russia, the official website is located at https://www.danko-rus.ru/.

By going to the Product Catalog you can see all available models, sorted by type. Each model is accompanied by a detailed description of the device’s features and technical characteristics, as well as an electronic copy of a full operating manual, which describes the installation diagram, the algorithm for switching on and adjusting the operation, maintenance features, and contains clear schematic images.

Which boiler model is ultimately better to choose?

If you decide to opt for Danko, it is not difficult to decide on a model; we recommend choosing from the most successful models described above. The main selection criteria are the minimum required power, the need for a second circuit for hot water supply and the budget.

One of the most budget-friendly gas boilers on the market as a whole is Danko 8C, the power of which is sufficient to heat a house with an area of up to 70 m2. For the average size of a house (100-120 m2), models 12CP (single-circuit) or 12VCP (double-circuit) are suitable. With an area of 120-140 m2 or more, it is better to choose a model with a more efficient and reliable cast iron heat exchanger - 16 HP or its more powerful versions.

Parapet models are intended, as a rule, for installation in an apartment; their choice is limited only by the minimum required power (simplified - 1 kW for every 10 m 2 of area + 10-20% power reserve).

Possible problems during operation

The most common and almost the only problem with Danko gas boilers is the burner (pilot) going out. The cause is usually strong gusts of wind, icing of the chimney or its contamination with combustion products. To prevent blowing, we recommend installing a check valve in the chimney. To prevent clogged chimneys, it is important to have your chimney cleaned annually (or do an unscheduled cleaning to deal with the problem now).

A more rare problem that occurs in severe frosts (-15°C and below) is icing of the chimney. In addition to mechanical elimination, there are chimney designs that prevent icing.

Ready-made design of a side chimney that prevents icing.

There are also complaints about excessive smoke production during operation. Typically, a gas boiler smokes when there is a significant layer of soot in the chimney, formed due to untimely cleaning. Combustion products settle on the chimney especially quickly when using liquefied gas. Also, the reason may be that a cold boiler is started immediately at maximum power; we recommend increasing the temperature gradually.

If parapet models knock when heating or cooling in a certain temperature range, check the slopes, the pipes may have sagged and air has formed in the CO.

Please note that after extinguishing, unlike more expensive models with advanced automation, the burners of Danko boilers do not light up on their own and require intervention.

How to light a Danko gas boiler

Identification of boiler control elements.

  1. Turn the mechanical temperature regulator counterclockwise until it stops.
  2. Make sure that the tap on the gas pipeline inlet is open.
  3. Press and hold the start button, then press and release the piezo button (several clicks may be required, repeat until the pilot burner lights up). Hold the start button for at least 30 seconds until the burner goes out when it is released. If the boiler has not been adjusted previously, it may be necessary to adjust the air supply by turning the nut on the ignition burner until the burner flame turns blue.
  4. Turn the thermostat knob clockwise until the main burner turns on, then set the desired power.

The startup process differs slightly for configurations with different automation; the algorithm is described in detail in the operating instructions, an electronic copy of which is attached in the description of each model on the official website.

What are the pros and cons of Danko boilers?

The main advantage of Danko gas appliances is that they are assembled using technology purchased from European manufacturers. And this distinguishes Danko boilers from other Ukrainian and Russian manufacturers of similar products. Having studied the reviews of the Danko gas boiler, you can be convinced that these units have a lot of positive aspects.

Among the many positive features, it is worth highlighting the most important:

  1. gas boilers can operate efficiently at reduced gas pressure (up to 2 Mbar);
  2. quiet operation;
  3. heating occurs very quickly. This was made possible thanks to the presence of a copper coil;
  4. the unit is equipped with safe and reliable automation (Kare or Sit);
  5. thanks to the steel heat exchanger, heat transfer is significantly increased;
  6. reasonable price. The cost of Danko gas boilers varies depending on the specific type and model of the unit. For example, the price for a Danko floor-standing gas boiler will differ from wall-mounted units. The price depends not only on the specific model, but also on the power and type of automation. But still the products are available to every buyer;
  7. the warranty period is 3 years;
  8. long period of operation - about 25 years.

The reviews for the Danko single-circuit floor-standing gas boiler are mostly positive. Consumers note reliability, uninterrupted operation, and durability. Many people also include the advantage that during the warranty period, all components and spare parts are delivered at the expense of the manufacturer. And repairs are provided by plant employees or gas services.

Of course, like any equipment, Danko boilers are not without drawbacks:

  • the chimney needs to be cleaned periodically;
  • When looking at reviews of the Danko floor-standing gas boiler, you can note its noisier operation compared to wall-mounted options;
  • if the flue is horizontal, a strong wind can extinguish the flame in a gas boiler;
  • The power of wall-mounted models is lower than that of floor-standing counterparts.

Without knowing what type of unit is best to purchase: a gas boiler from a well-known imported manufacturer or a Danko wall-mounted single-circuit gas boiler, reviews can in this regard become a decisive factor in making a purchase. Many consumers have already appreciated Danko's products and recommend using only devices from this company.

Gas floor-standing boiler Danko 10 C / SR (KSG-10) EuroSit-630

Gas floor-standing boiler Danko 10-C with a power of 10 kW with EuroSit-630 automation (Italy) and is intended for heating a house or other premises with a total area of up to 100 m2. Steel gas boilers Danko KSG-10 are manufactured with a universal (vertical/horizontal) flue for exhaust gases with a diameter of only 100 mm , which is a feature and very convenient when installing the boiler. The main welded tubular heat exchanger is made of high-quality steel with a thickness of 3 mm.

The heat exchanger gas ducts are made of a larger number of smoke tubes into which screw turbulators are inserted. As a result, this helps to ensure maximum temperature selection of the exhaust flue gases, which in turn ensures rapid heating of the coolant in the heat exchanger and maximum boiler efficiency. To complete the boilers, the following are used: automatic safety and regulation: EuroSit; imported injection low-flame burners made of high-quality heat-resistant stainless steel, which ensure complete combustion of gas and a stable flame even when the gas pressure drops to 635 Pa. Boilers of this series do not require any additional maintenance or consumables. The above parameters allow us to say with confidence that Danko gas steel boilers are completely environmentally friendly. In modern gas supply conditions, Danko energy-saving boilers ideally meet user requirements. When installing a circulation pump, more uniform heating of the heating system is achieved, thus ensuring indoor comfort with less gas consumption.

Danko boilers are notable for the fact that all models:

  • have a 3 mm steel heat exchanger;
  • operate on natural gas, but at the same time have the ability to convert to liquefied (cylindered) gas;
  • non-volatile, i.e. do not depend on the source of electricity;
  • have a vertical chimney arrangement, which significantly saves space when installing the boiler;
  • silent in operation;
  • work ideally at nominal or high gas pressure in the network;
  • have automatic safety and regulation “EuroSit” (Italy), which not only makes it easier to start the boiler, but also ensures high safety;
  • designed for operation in open and closed heating systems;
  • fully adapted to various working conditions in Russia;
  • have a 3-year warranty, which is provided not only for the boiler itself, but also for its components;

Features of operation

When purchasing a Danko floor-standing gas boiler, instructions are included with each model of the unit. And this document must be carefully studied before proceeding with installation and operation. Preventive inspection and repairs should only be performed by a qualified technician who has permission to carry out work of this nature.

To extend the service life and ensure safe operation of the device, it is important to follow these rules:

  1. in case of breakdown, turn off the tap;
  2. if there is a smell of gas in the room, you must immediately turn off the tap, open the windows and call the emergency service;
  3. from time to time it is necessary to check the chimney and clean it;
  4. Check the expansion tank weekly for the required water level;
  5. If the service life of the unit has expired, you should call a specialist to assess the condition of the device and make a decision regarding the possibility of further operation of the gas boiler.

Thus, we can conclude that gas boilers are widely used today for heating supply system equipment. You can read about choosing a gas boiler for your apartment here. Ukrainian Danko units are very popular in the modern market. Their quality is on par with foreign analogues, and the cost is an order of magnitude lower. During operation of boilers, they must be periodically inspected and maintained. And in case of breakdown, immediately contact a specialist for help.

Operation of the Danko gas boiler Before putting the Danko floor-standing boiler into operation, it is necessary to: - fill the heating system with coolant (water). It is recommended to fill in softened water (after special chemical preparation or at least rainwater); — you need to fill the system with cold water slowly and without stopping to prevent the system from airing. — make sure that there is draft in the chimney channel and that there is no gas in the room; - ventilate the room in which the boiler is installed and the heated space of the boiler for 5-10 minutes, while the gas valve on the gas pipeline inlet must be closed. Check the tightness of the heating system, water supply and gas supply. Check the gas pressure with the device turned off. Its value should be less than 3000 Pa (300 mm water column). Check the gas pressure with the boiler running. The pressure should be 1250-1400 Pa. Turn on the device and heat the water in the heating system to 80°C. When filling the heating system from the city water supply network, do not allow the water pressure in the system to increase above 0.1 MPa. Check that the ignition burner (pilot) heats the thermocouple sufficiently. The flame on the burner should be blue. Switching on and putting the Danko-10/12 boiler into operation When using the KARE automation (Fig. 1), it is necessary to: - make sure that the gas valve on the gas pipeline in front of the unit is closed; — turn the temperature sensor adjustment knob counterclockwise until it stops; — open the tap on the gas pipeline supply; — press the start button of the thermoelectromagnetic valve and hold it, press and release the button of the piezo lighter (the button must be pressed for a certain period until the ignition burner begins to burn), after which the start button of the thermoelectromagnetic valve should be held pressed for up to 30 seconds. until, when it is released, the ignition burner goes out, and by turning the nut on the ignition burner, which regulates the flow of air, achieve a blue flame on the burner. — if the ignition burner goes out, the ignition operation should be repeated again, but not earlier than after 30 s. — turn the thermostat knob smoothly to the right until the main burner lights up; the handle must be rotated without impact or force at the end points; — set the desired temperature with the thermostat (when the set temperature is reached, the main burner goes out, and when the coolant temperature drops by 5°±2.5 C, it lights up again). Turning off the Danko boiler: - to turn off the main burner, you need to smoothly turn the thermostat handle to the left until it stops; — to turn off the main and ignition burners, you must smoothly turn the thermostat handle to the left until it stops, and then close the tap on the gas pipeline supply. When using the 630EUROSIT automation: - make sure that the gas valve on the gas pipeline in front of the boiler is closed; - make sure that the boiler is turned off - the white dot on the handle is aligned with the “star” sign on the panel; — open the common tap on the gas pipeline; — turn the handle counterclockwise to align the “asterisk” marks on the panel handle; — smoothly press the handle in the axial direction until it stops (gas access to the ignition burner is open) and holding it pressed, press the button several times, the burner should light up (when you press the button, you should hear the clicking of the piezo lighter); - keep the handle pressed with the pilot light on for at least 10 seconds; - release the handle - the ignition burner should burn (if it goes out, you must repeat the previous steps, increasing the time you press the handle); — turn the knob counterclockwise in the direction of position “7” (which corresponds to a maximum coolant temperature of 90°) — the main burner lights up; — at a certain position (1...7) of the knob in the boiler, the coolant temperature is automatically maintained by periodically turning the main burner on and off (when the set temperature is reached, the main burner goes out, and when the coolant temperature drops by 5° ± 2.5 C, it lights up again); — when operating the device, it is necessary to determine whether the boiler thermometer readings correspond to the position (1...7) of the handle. The boiler can be turned on again at least 3 minutes after it is turned off. Maintenance of Danko gas boilers Monitoring the operation of the boiler is the responsibility of the consumer, who is obliged to keep it clean and in good condition. Check the convective flue for contamination. To do this, you need to remove the cover of the decorative casing, having first unscrewed the screws securing the cover with the decorative casing, carefully remove the thermal insulation, unscrew the nuts securing the flue, disconnect the flue from the chimney and carefully remove it from the boiler. If there is contamination, it is necessary to remove the main burner and clean the convective flue channels. Reassemble the boiler in reverse order. If the Danko-10/12 boiler stops operating, if there is a threat of water freezing in the heating system, completely drain the water from the device and from the heating system, and if there is a hot water supply circuit, then from it as well. During operation, once a week check the filling of the heating system with water by the presence of water in the expansion tank, the level of which should not fall below 1/4 of its height. The system is filled when the boiler is cooled below 40°C (temperature is measured with a thermometer). Preventive inspection and repair of the unit is carried out by gas workers. It is best to carry out this work before the start of the heating season. Preventive inspection is not part of the warranty and is carried out at the expense of the owner.
