How to determine the required power?
Approximately the power of the heating boiler is determined from the calculation: for each square meter of heating area (at a standard room height) 1 kW of heating device power is required.
To this you need to add a margin of about 15%. It is also necessary to take into account the thickness of the walls and the material from which they are built, since the heat retention in the room depends on the thermal conductivity of the walls. The power of the selected boiler also depends on the amount of water in the system and the method of its circulation. If the circulation is forced (using pumps), then less heating power is required.

Maintenance of gas boilers
External inspection is the beginning of maintenance. In this case, the burner must be dismantled and inspected. It is this that requires regular maintenance of the burner: thorough cleaning of the retaining washer, electrodes of the ignition device and the flame sensor. This also includes cleaning the air sensor, which regulates the parameters of the gas-air mixture. Cleaning must be carried out, and if necessary, filters in the gas section must be replaced. Also, according to the boiler manufacturer’s regulations, all boiler parts in contact with the burner torch are cleaned. The internal gas channels must be cleaned.

Single-circuit or double-circuit?
If the boiler has only one circuit, then it by itself can only provide heating to the house. If you need to heat water for a house with an area of 200 square meters, you will need to buy and connect a storage boiler. This usually requires a connection kit recommended by the manufacturer.
Double-circuit boilers are initially designed for heating and hot water. However, it is recommended to use such equipment only when the need for hot water is small, otherwise the supply may be unstable or completely insufficient.

Automation for gas boilers
Volatile automation is used to open and close the gas boiler valve.
Safety and room temperature control devices are: room thermostats, daily programmers, weekly programmers. Room thermostats are connected to gas equipment by cable. The principle of operation of the thermostat: when the temperature in the room reaches the set value, a signal is sent to the gas supply valve and the operation of the boiler stops. If the temperature drops, the boiler automatically turns on. The thermostat can be a membrane block with a gas filler. The sensor controls the thermostat by closing and opening contacts when a certain temperature is reached. The thermostat in turn turns the boiler off or on.
The daily programmer performs the functions of a thermostat and makes it possible to program the operation of heating equipment for a day. Connection to heating equipment is wired or wireless (via radio). Some daily programmers are designed for both programming the coolant temperature and the temperature of water heating in the secondary circuit.
The weekly wireless programmer works at a distance of up to 300 m if the space between the transmitter and receiver is open, and up to 30 m if there are concrete walls in the way. The device has high adjustment accuracy and can provide very high temperature comfort in the room. Convenient use of the device is ensured by a backlit display. It is possible to connect an external temperature sensor.

Requirements for chimneys of gas boilers and their types
The chimney is designed to remove fuel combustion products outside the house. In order for a gas boiler to serve effectively for a long time, it is very important to carry out high-quality installation of the chimney. The following requirements are imposed on its installation:
• installation strictly according to the instructions of the manufacturer of this equipment; • vertical arrangement, absence of expansions and contractions; • for high-quality removal of combustion products, the chimney of a gas boiler must be higher than the roof; • there must be a correspondence between the diameter of the exhaust opening and the area of the boiler chimney; • the chimney must be completely gas-tight.
There are several types of chimneys.
1) Classic brick. Today, hardly anyone will install it. It is characterized by high cost, design complexity, and its performance characteristics are inferior to newer designs. 2) Made from stainless steel pipe. Such a chimney is resistant to mechanical damage and is practically unaffected by aggressive environments. It is usually made in the form of a sandwich: two pipes of different diameters one inside the other, and the gap between them is filled with heat-resistant wool. 3) Coaxial. It has a very presentable appearance and very high performance parameters. It is classified as a device that increases the efficiency of gas boilers and improves their environmental and fire safety characteristics. 4) Ceramic. Simple and reliable, fireproof, easy to install and the most affordable.

How to choose a fuel type? Is gas, electricity, solid or liquid fuel better?
House with an area of 200 sq.m. has no significant limitations on area, which gives owners greater freedom in choosing a boiler based on the type of fuel used. In such a cottage, you can equip a separate boiler room and find a place for a floor-standing boiler and a fuel supply for it, or give preference to compact wall-mounted gas or electric models.
- Gas.
It is a very common type of fuel due to its low heating costs compared to other options. Gasification has already been carried out in most regions of Russia, so a gas boiler for a 200 m2 house can be installed there without problems. Even if there is no main gas, many boilers can be converted to use liquefied gas. Gas boilers are produced by all well-known manufacturers (Vaillant, Protherm, Bosch, Baxi and others). Among the most popular series are the Bear, Panther, turboTEC, Luna-3, etc. boilers. When purchasing a gas boiler, you can count on an average efficiency of about 89-92%. Finding specialists in the installation and repair of gas boilers is not a problem, since this type of heating equipment is well known to specialists. - Electricity.
An environmentally friendly, but expensive type of fuel for boilers for a house of 200 sq.m. Due to high heating costs, few owners prefer this option, but the convenience of electric boilers cannot be denied. They are lightweight, ultra-compact, silent, equipped with advanced automation, easy to install and operate. Another big plus is high efficiency (up to 99.5%). Boilers from the Vaillant eloBLOCK or Protherm Skat series are popular. - Solid fuel.
Solid fuel boilers for a house with an area of 200 square meters are effective, but not very common. This group accounts for no more than 15% of all heating boilers installed in Russian houses and cottages. The reasons are simple: not everyone is comfortable storing a supply of firewood, coal or pellets. In addition, solid fuel boilers emit quite a lot of combustion products into the atmosphere and require frequent maintenance (cleaning from soot). However, this type of heating is indispensable in areas without gasification. Efficiency rates are usually in the range of 80-90%. - Liquid fuel (fuel oil, kerosene, diesel).
They are not often used due to the need to allocate a room for a boiler room and a sufficiently large container for storing fuel. Suitable for non-gasified residential areas. They show efficiency comparable to gas boilers.

General recommendations for the use of gas boilers
1) A hard type filter must be installed at the gas outlet. 2) Hard filters are installed on the coolant supply to the heating circuit. 3) Such filters are also installed at the water inlet to the boiler. 4) If the heating pipe is supplied from the rear side of the boiler, then it is necessary to make a slight slope. The rear side of the boiler must be raised slightly so that the air accumulated in the heat exchanger escapes up the pipe. Otherwise the boiler may not work properly. 5) If a heating system with natural circulation is created, then installing an additional bypass and circulation pump will increase the efficiency of the boiler and make it more economical. 6) Installing a voltage stabilizer will protect the boiler control board from damage. 7) It is imperative to conclude a warranty and post-warranty agreement with the service center. This will help extend the life of the boiler.
