Reliable and stable Beretta gas boiler: faults and their elimination, operating instructions for floor-standing and wall-mounted models

Gas boilers, which provide a source of thermal energy for an autonomous heating system, are the most convenient and efficient option.

They are capable of operating automatically, do not require constant human intervention, are economical and efficient.

A striking representative of the group of gas heating boilers are the Italian Beretta units, which demonstrate excellent performance combined with affordable prices.

Beretta boilers are reliable and stable in operation, and are constantly monitored by their own self-monitoring system for the condition of parts and components.

Let's look at the most common malfunctions of these units and ways to solve the problems that arise in connection with them.

Basic malfunctions of Beretta gas boilers

The design of Beretta boilers is a reliable and durable engineering solution that takes into account all loads and impacts on the parts and components of the unit.

The most likely malfunctions occur in the most critical components that experience maximum temperature or dynamic loads.

According to experts, the most common malfunctions include:

  • Lack of flame on the burner, causing the boiler to block. This problem occurs most often, as it can be caused by various reasons, from clogging of the burner nozzles to stopping the gas supply in the mains.
  • Failure of the control board - burnout of parts or failure due to condensation. This is one of the most unpleasant problems for the user, since replacing the control board is a very expensive procedure.
  • Boiler shutdown due to exceeding the permissible flue gas pressure. Here, the reasons may be either clogging with soot or the appearance of ice at the outlet of the chimney, or increased wind, creating excessive pressure in the chimney.
  • Failure of any self-diagnosis sensor. The boiler control system perceives such situations as the occurrence of an equivalent error and immediately takes appropriate measures.
  • Low water pressure in the heating circuit supply pipe. If replenishment does not help solve the problem, then there may be a leak or failure of the expansion tank.

IMPORTANT!

The problems listed are among the most common, but this does not mean that they are mandatory - during operation, any accidents are possible, and the described situations may not manifest themselves at all.

The boiler does not turn on - there is no indication

Almost all modern gas boilers are equipped with a control board and an information panel with a liquid crystal display or LED indicators. If there is no indication, first of all you need to make sure that power is supplied to the boiler. Typically, the electrical connection of the boiler is carried out through a separate “automatic machine” - check whether it is turned on or not.

The surest way to make sure that power is supplied to the boiler is to check with a multimeter in voltmeter mode the presence of 220V at the connection point to the boiler board. If there is no voltage, it is necessary to localize and eliminate the problem. In real life, it happens that someone in the household simply pulls the plug from the socket.

Safety fuses

It is also worth paying attention to the location of the fuses. In some boilers, depending on the model (for example, Ariston, Buderus, Vaillant), the fuses are located on the board itself, and in some, before they are connected to the board. If there are no problems with the electrical connection to the boiler, you should check the integrity of the fuses (with the same multitester in the “continuity” mode).

If the fuses are intact and there is 220 volts at the control points, it is likely that the boiler does not turn on due to a malfunction of the control electronics.

If during the inspection it turns out that the fuses have blown, then there was at least a problem with the power supply. In this case, it would be correct to first conduct research on the actuators (fan, pump, priority valve) and boiler wiring for a short circuit. However, in practice, even representatives of specialized organizations simply replace the fuses with good ones and check the boiler in operation. If the fuses blow again, then sequentially turn off the high-voltage parts of the boiler to identify the problem area (this is not a recommendation for action! This approach is not entirely correct).

Several spare fuses are usually supplied with the boiler.

If the fuses blow due to damage to one of the actuators, it must be replaced (or the cause of the short circuit must be eliminated). In the case where it is proven that the mechanisms (and wiring) are in good working order, the control board itself remains. Blown fuses indicate that there was an unacceptable load on the electronics (thunderstorm, pulsed power surge in the network), so the cause of the malfunction may also be a short circuit on the board itself.

Water (moisture) getting on the board

Water ingress is one of the most unpleasant situations. Although the board is in a protective case, water may get inside due to leakage or condensation. Often it gets into the box through the wires. Water ingress almost always causes damage to the board, in most cases irreparable. Characteristic stains and oxidation will be visible on the board due to water.

Varistor and power supply

Often, if the boiler board is damaged, burnt or charred elements can be visually detected on it. A varistor is a protective element of the board that is installed at the input of the circuit. In most cases, this is a blue round part (but not necessarily). When the rated load is exceeded, the varistor is destroyed and opens the circuit. In some cases, if the varistor helped prevent damage to the electronics, biting it out is enough to eliminate the gap in the circuit. Important! Although the board circuit will work without a varistor, it should be remembered that the varistor is a protective device and the correct solution would be to replace it. The power supply is a microcircuit that is also damaged primarily by pulsed power surges or during a thunderstorm. If cracks or damage are visible, the boiler board will likely need to be diagnosed and repaired.

Display board

For some boiler models (Vaillant, Ariston, Navien), the control unit consists of a main board and an information board (display board). The boiler may also not turn on if the display board is broken. The display board, unlike the main one, is cheaper, but most often cannot be repaired. In this case, the fault can only be identified by replacing a known good part.

If the gas boiler is working, there is an indication on the display, but it does not start or produces errors, further diagnostics are required.

How to run self-diagnosis

The self-diagnosis system is a network of sensors located on all important and critical parts and components of the boiler.

They do not need to be started, since they operate in continuous mode, from the moment they are turned on until the unit stops operating.

Therefore, launching self-diagnosis of a gas boiler as a separate function is impossible . Moreover, if it occurs to someone to stop the operation of the system, then no result will be obtained - it is impossible to stop the process using standard methods, and turning off the sensors is regarded by the control board as the same error, causing the boiler to block.

The self-diagnosis system is an integral part of the gas boiler operation process, ensuring the safety of the equipment and notifying the owner or repairman about the location of the defective unit.

Model range of Beretta gas boilers

In the production of Beretta gas boilers, high-quality materials are used. The internal equipment is different, so the models can be classified into several types.

Beretta City 24 includes 9 modifications with power from 24 to 28 kW. Gas is used natural or liquefied. City 50 devices are wall mounted. The boilers are equipped with LCD screens and electric ignition.

Beretta ciao 24 gas boilers belong to the line of double-circuit wall-mounted models. The combustion chamber can be open or closed. Powers vary from 16 to 38 kW. Beretta ciao 24 csi devices can operate on liquefied gas, and it is also possible to connect a remote control to them.

Beretta Exclusive devices are equipped with circulation pumps. They have separate heat exchangers built into them. The device operates in 4 modes. Power ranges from 24 to 35 kW. The devices are equipped with fans, the rotation force of which can be changed.

Beretta Fabula is made of cast iron. The equipment is equipped with a storage boiler to provide hot water. Beretta Novella 35 e and avtonom 24 are designed for one circuit, but in any room. The burner is made of stainless steel.

Boiler mine devices are mounted on the wall, they are of a dual-circuit type. The water heater has a capacity of 60 liters. Power is 28 kW. Maxima 108 floor-standing is made of cast iron. The gas burner consists of 2 stages.

Error codes and their interpretation

Let's look at the main error codes (pictures) of Beretta boilers:

Errors of type “A” require a restart of the boiler, and errors of group “E” disappear after the cause is eliminated without the need for a restart.

Beretta boiler errors - Why they occur and how to fix them

_______________________________________________________________________________

Error A01 - Means that the burner ignition is blocked. The flame ionization sensor indicates a malfunction in the device. This electrode sensor takes into account the presence of a flame and stops the operation of the Beretta boiler if the main gas burner device is not burning sufficiently or if there are difficulties with the gas supply. Termination of work occurs after three unsuccessful starts. To get things working again, it is recommended to press and hold the Reset button. Gas valve malfunction - The gas valve is controlled electronically. Diagnostics of this element is carried out by determining the value of resistance and voltage. If the values do not correspond to the standard parameters, the valve must be replaced. Lack of gas supply to the system - There is a valve in the gas distribution circuit that closes the gas flow. Consequently, a failure when starting the boiler may occur due to a closed tap. Insufficient contact or no signal from the flame control sensor. The electronic board is faulty - If the ignition process is carried out normally, but the device suddenly goes out, then the electronic board probably does not recognize the flame. Based on this, it needs to be checked. Problem with ignition. This may occur if the ignition does not work or the flame comes off. It is necessary to check the contacts between the ignition device and the flame electrode, and also between the control board and the gas valve. One of the factors for burner flame extinction is lack of draft. Error code A02 - Problems with overheating of the Beretta gas boiler. The unit is blocked. The overheating safety thermostat has tripped - The overheating thermostat, like the temperature sensor, is most often located at the outlet pipe of the primary heat exchanger. The main purpose of the thermostat is to protect the device from high temperatures. The malfunction occurs due to problems with the thermostat, temperature sensor, and also when there is a malfunction in the main circulation circuit. Temperature sensor failure - The control board receives an incorrect signal or the contact between the electronic board and the sensor is broken. The overheating thermostat is faulty - If it is suitable for operation, although actual overheating of the coolant is detected, then most likely there is a problem with the circulation of the coolant in the heating circuit. The main heat exchanger or the filter element of the heating circuit is clogged (insufficient circulation process implies increased heating of the liquid). The circulation pump is faulty or there is an air blockage in the heating system. Error A03 (31 for MIX CSI) - No traction. In order to ensure the correct and trouble-free operation of a gas boiler, it is necessary to create draft to remove combustion products so that they do not penetrate into residential premises. Electronics monitor the smoke output, and if any problems occur, the draft sensor-relay turns on and the boiler stops working. Probable reasons for the lack of draft: insufficient chimney size, inappropriate design, pollution, ice on the walls. Reducing the diameter of the outlet channel entails a lack of traction. Exceeding the permissible length of chimney pipes It is necessary to carefully study the installation instructions for the gas boiler and comply with the relevant requirements. A sufficiently long horizontal section of the chimney pipe can lead to a loss of the necessary draft. Malfunction of the pressure switch-traction sensor - When a vacuum occurs in the inlet tube, you can hear a characteristic click. There is poor contact between the control board and the draft sensor, condensation is present, as well as incorrect connection of the tubes to the pneumatic relay. Fan stopped working - There is a blockage in the fan impeller. There is no lubricant on the fan shaft, which is why it does not develop the required speed. No contact between the fan and the electronic board. Error code A04 - Indicates that there is not enough pressure inside the system. Probable sources of this problem: low fluid pressure in the heating circuit. There is no contact between the electronic board and the pressure switch. Pressostat malfunction. First you need to check the pressure gauge readings. As a rule, the problem can be corrected by using a make-up tap, which is designed to fill the heating system with water. When the failure occurs again, there is probably a coolant leak. A hydraulic pump, primary heat exchanger, excess pressure relief valve, damaged gaskets, make-up valve and other components may leak. Leakage is determined during an external inspection of hydraulic connections and components. Error A06 - The hot water temperature sensor is not working correctly. This code indicates that there is a malfunction of the temperature sensor in the DHW circuit or the temperature required for operation has increased significantly. The main reasons preceding this problem: the DHW temperature sensor is broken. Poor contact between the electronic board and the DHW temperature sensor. The control board has burned out. If the DHW temperature sensor is working and is in firm contact with the electronic control board, but the boiler shows an error, then the electronic control board is probably not working. Error A07 - Failure to detect the temperature by the heating system sensor. This indicates that the heating system temperature sensor is broken or the recommended temperature is too high. Open circuit of the heating circuit temperature sensor - This problem can occur if the connection between the temperature sensor and the electronics board is broken, or the temperature reading is below normal. After five seconds have passed after the fault is detected, the Beretta boiler should resume normal operation if the fault occurred spontaneously. You need to check that there is no moisture on the temperature sensor connector and the control board connector. If there is no moisture, you need to change the temperature sensor. There is a short circuit of the temperature sensor in the heating circuit - This malfunction may occur due to a short circuit of the contacts of the temperature sensor or the coolant temperature is higher than the nominal one. First you need to measure the resistance of the temperature sensor. If the resistance parameters do not meet the required ones, you need to change the temperature sensor. When installing a working sensor does not help, change the electronic board. Beretta boiler in operation. In the last week, almost every day it shows ignition error A 01. After rebooting using the reset key, the device occasionally starts without problems, but this happens very rarely. I recently removed the air cap plug and it works better. What problem is this? If it gives an error related to the chimney, we recommend that you open the protective covers. This will help draw air out of the room. Then inspect the chimney for the presence of ice and, if necessary, clean it. If the failure is associated with flame separation, it is necessary to check whether gas is entering the house. The unit regularly displays error A 07. Can anyone explain what it means? This code refers to problems with the heating temperature sensor. Looks like it needs to be changed. What is the problem if the Beretta gas boiler does not turn on? It also often produces error A02. What should be done? Such a failure often occurs due to various problems in the thermostat, temperature sensor, and also when the main circulation circuit is difficult to operate. It looks like the heat exchanger is overheated. If the temperature sensor and thermostat are operational, then the problem is with the electronic board. It needs to be changed. What is the problem if the device does not want to start and displays error code A04? The pressure is normal and there are no leaks. I try to disconnect from the network, but the problem does not go away. Tell me, what is the reason? The fault code may indicate low water pressure in the heating circuit. In this case, it is necessary to check the water level sensor. Apparently it is damaged. The malfunction of the unit is as follows: the DHW is set to a temperature of 45 degrees. If you turn on hot water, the gas burner ignites and goes out almost immediately. This cycle happens often. Warm water may come out of the tap, but not hot, or cold. From time to time the error code A02 lights up. What is the reason? This code indicates that the hot water circuit fluid is overheating. We assume that the heat exchanger is clogged with dirt, or the thermostat is not set correctly. We have such a problem. During ignition, the device displays error code A01. When you restart it, it turns on normally, but as soon as the burner lights up, you can hear strange clicking sounds, and then an error message appears. I replaced the ionization electrode, cleaned the water flow sensor and removed the ground from the plug, but the result was zero. Who has encountered this? This problem occurs in several cases. The control electrode is faulty. Difficulties with gas supply. The electronics board is faulty. The unit has stopped working autonomously and is showing code A04. What could it be? Low water level in the device or damage to the pressure switch sensor. First fill the heating circuit. The unit shuts down with error code A03. Blowing and cleaning doesn't help. What's happened? This code indicates unsatisfactory draft, and we advise you to check the chimney system. The membrane may have stuck. In another case, you need to call a specialist for a detailed inspection of the boiler and then follow it up. We have a Beretta boiler in our house. An error with code A07 began to appear. The unit itself does the work; we adjust the coolant temperature level manually. When they installed it, it probably overheated, since the temperature maintenance mode was turned on. There is no outdoor air temperature sensor. What is the problem? There is probably a problem with the DHW temperature sensor. In some cases, the electronic board fails. The device operates for approximately 2-3 minutes, after which the burner turns off and error code A03 appears. It glows for no more than a minute, the gas burner turns on again, and the unit operates uninterruptedly for another 3-4 minutes, and so on in a circle. This failure, judging by the manual, means that the draft sensor has tripped, although the chimney channel is not clogged and combustion products are discharged normally. I just can’t figure out what’s wrong? In a particular case, the probable reasons for the lack of traction are: problems with the pneumatic traction relay-sensor. The contact between the pressure switch and the control board is broken. The presence of condensate, as well as incorrect connection of the tubes to the air relay sensor. Damage to fan components. It doesn't seem to be developing the required RPM.

The Seoul gas wall-mounted boiler stopped turning on due to a no-ignition error. How can it be eliminated? What exactly went wrong?

Popular breakdowns and their elimination

The lower the serial number of the error, the more often it occurs when operating the Beretta boiler.

Let's look at the most common errors and possible ways to eliminate them:

  • A01. Blockage due to lack of flame. There are several possible reasons - problems with the gas supply in the main line, the gas supply valve to the boiler is closed, the burner nozzles are severely clogged. Find out if there is gas in the line, clean the burner and nozzles.
  • A02. Overheating of the heat exchanger indicates a lack of water. Check the operation of the circulation pump and the coolant pressure, add fluid to the system.
  • A03. High pressure in the chimney indicates blockage of the outlet with ice, frost, and soot accumulation. Possible weather conditions - strong gusty winds.
  • A 04. A drop in coolant pressure may be caused by a lack of liquid. Check the system for leaks and repair if found.
  • A05. Problems with the DHW line thermistor can be eliminated by replacing the sensor.
  • A06. A failed heating circuit thermistor must be replaced immediately.
  • E33. It is necessary to swap the electrodes in the power plug. Beretta boilers are phase-dependent and do not work if the phase wire is incorrectly connected.
  • E46. Exceeding the permissible temperature of the coolant indicates problems in the circulation of the liquid. You should check the operating mode of the circulation pump.
  • The bell symbol (bell, p) is flashing. This is a signal from the chimney pressure sensor, indicating that there is an obstacle to the exit of smoke, or the formation of ice or frost at the pipe outlet.

IMPORTANT!

The Beretta boiler error is reset by pressing the shutdown button and turning the boiler back on after 5-6 seconds.

Localizing the problem of boiler malfunction

With the development of modern low-rise construction and gas networks, the boiler has become a common household appliance in every house or apartment. Basically, after installation, the boiler does not cause users any trouble. Modern boilers operate completely autonomously and require only regular maintenance or inspection. In our opinion, the average operating time of units before the first breakdown is from 4 to 6 years. Some users encounter problems even after 9 years, and some, on the contrary, earlier. In this material I will tell you what can be done if the boiler simply does not turn on, and I will also consider the most common malfunctions of gas boilers. The concept of “does not turn on” can mean completely different problems:

  • There is no indication (the display is not lit)
  • The boiler does not light up
  • The boiler does not operate in any particular mode

Therefore, these different situations should be considered separately in detail. Please note that to eliminate some malfunctions, user intervention is sufficient, but in some cases it is necessary to call a qualified specialist.

User manual

Beretta boilers are operated automatically, which does not require constant human intervention.

The user is only required to adjust the heating mode according to his own feelings, switch the boiler to winter or summer mode (turning off or starting the heating circuit), maintaining the cleanliness of the body and periodic maintenance (by service workers).

All serious problems can only be solved by calling a specialist - eliminating constantly occurring errors or incomprehensible phenomena that occur with the boiler in operating mode.

In addition, the user independently fills the system with water (or recharges as necessary).

The process consists of supplying liquid through the make-up tap and filling the system until the water pressure reaches 1-1.5 Bar. This is below the operating pressure, but when heated, the water will expand and due to the increase in volume, the pressure will reach the desired value.

The boiler starts automatically when the required temperature of the coolant in the system is set.

It is prohibited to pour water into a hot boiler due to the risk of destruction of the heat exchanger . It is necessary to wait until the boiler cools down and only then add water.

Beretta City

The Beretta City boiler is equipped with lights, as well as a display that shows possible errors. Two light diodes installed on the central control panel are configured to notify of possible faults.

The light bulb blinks once every half second

This means that the Beretta boiler stopped due to an accident. In this case, several types of breakdowns are possible. The device stopped at a signal from the hydraulic pressure switch; the stop lasted no more than 10 minutes. Stop by signals from the smoke exhaust pressure switch. The stop lasts no more than 10 minutes. The unit is operational and is currently in an intermediate state before ignition. When this error code appears, the device is in standby mode. As soon as conditions for full operation are restored, the device is put into operation. If after the set time the operation is not restored, the stop will change from temporary to emergency. In this case, a red light will be added to the green LED, located on the same control panel.

The green light blinks quickly, once every 0.1 seconds

SARA function input/output (automatic room temperature setting system). The automatic control system is activated if the temperature controller responsible for the temperature in the heating system switches to auto mode. In this case, the boiler automatically sets the water temperature, based on the readings of the thermostat that measures the temperature in the room. After the water reaches the set temperature, 20 minutes are counted down. If during this time the thermostat continues to send a signal that the room temperature is lower than the required one, the unit will automatically set the temperature of the water supplied for heating by 5 degrees more. After another 20 minutes, the device again compares the set temperature in the room and the signal coming from the thermostat. If the temperature is again insufficient, a new increase in water heating follows by 5 degrees. After the second increase in temperature, the system will automatically return the settings to those specified by the user. And this will be repeated until the temperature in the room reaches the required value.

The green lamp is on continuously

The Beretta boiler is operating normally. The flame is present.

A red light always indicates that the device has been stopped in an emergency. Various indications of this diode indicate the type of fault.

Red LED lights up continuously

There is no flame. After the end of the transition stage in the operation of the boiler, a signal came from the smoke removal pressure switch. The NTC sensor in the heating system is broken. Due to an electronic failure, the unit stopped. After the end of the transition stage in the operation of the unit, a signal came from the hydraulic pressure switch.

The red light is flashing

This fault code appears when the limit thermostat is activated. In order to put the Beretta City boiler back into operation, you need to move the mode switch to the required positions. Next, you need to wait about 6 seconds, and then set the words to the operating mode that is required. If this does not help, then further repairs are carried out by service specialists.

The green light and red LED flash simultaneously

This operation of the indicator lights indicates that the NTC sensor of the DHW circuit is faulty. In this case, the unit will continue to operate, but it will not be able to maintain a constant temperature of the water supplied for household needs. To fix the problem, you need to contact a specialized service center. If these two lights flash alternately, this means that the device is currently in setup mode.

Yellow indicator is on

If it lights up continuously, this means that the device is in the mode of preheating water for household needs.

Does not start (does not ignite) - reasons and solution

A boiler failure during startup can be caused by various reasons, which can be determined either by the corresponding error code or by independently checking the condition of the boiler. The simplest option is the lack of gas in the main line.

This problem is external and can only be solved by contacting the gas service . The gas supply valve on the unit itself may be closed. There is another reason for ignition failure - reverse polarity of the power wires. It is displayed on the display as code E33.

The solution to the problem is to reconnect the wires . This situation can arise even after some period of normal operation of the boiler, if any work was done on the power supply panel and the phase and neutral were mistakenly swapped.

If you cannot find the reason for the failure to ignite the boiler, you should contact a service workshop.

Beretta Ciao

The Beretta Ciao boiler is equipped with a liquid crystal display, which displays not only operating modes, but also possible breakdowns. There is no standby mode.

Error code A01 - Flame error

This fault code appears when there is no flame. Two symbols appear on the display. Crossed out flame and bell.

Error code ADJ - Electronic settings error for minimum and maximum power

This fault code indicates problems with the electronic minimum and maximum power settings. The display shows a bell symbol.

Turning on the ignition standby mode 88 degrees. The bell symbol blinks. A breakdown associated with the boiler being blocked by a signal from the smoke exhaust pressure switch. The bell symbol blinks. Failure associated with stopping the device due to a hydraulic pressure switch. The bell symbol blinks.

Operating mode showing the presence of sensors that measure the temperature outside. The thermometer icon lights up on the display.

Operating mode indicating that the unit supplies water to the domestic hot water supply. The display shows the value 60 degrees and the faucet sign.

Operating mode indicating that the device operates on the heating system. The display shows a temperature value of 80 degrees and a “radiator” sign.

A mode in which the operation of the device is aimed at preventing the system from freezing. A snowflake lights up on the display.

Boiler mode indicating that flame is present. The flame symbol lights up on the display.

If you are not 100% sure what exactly the problem is and that you can solve it, immediately contact the service center to diagnose and fix the problem.

How to check sensors

All Beretta boiler sensors are part of the self-diagnosis system. They not only perform control functions, but are themselves objects of observation.

This means that if any sensor fails, short circuits or breaks the wires, the corresponding error code will immediately appear on the display of the boiler control panel. The system polls sensors automatically at the moment of switching on; no special actions are required from the user .

Most of them are thermistors that respond to changes in temperature conditions or when indicators exceed the limits established by the operating mode. The design of the elements is simple; replacement, if necessary, is not difficult and does not take much time.

It is not recommended to change any elements of the boiler yourself; you must call a technician from the service center.

Features of Beretta boilers

Well-known gas boilers are available in floor-mounted and wall-mounted models. Among them there are convection and condensation options. Let's look at the features of each of them.

The most popular wall units: Beretta City 24 CSI, Beretta Super Exclusive. Some models include a useful Winter-Summer mode. It allows you to switch the heating temperature to save fuel.

The control can be mechanical with regulators or electronic with a display. It is possible to connect a remote control. Double-circuit boilers are equipped with a secondary plate-type heat exchanger. There is a pressure gauge for pressure control.

A closed combustion chamber takes air from the street and is considered safer to use. A coaxial chimney can be connected both in an apartment and in a private house.

The Novella and Fabula lines represent floor-standing appliances. The control panel is hidden behind a sliding cover. Temperature control, thermometer, protection sensors are available. Burner with two stages of adjustment. The Novella series is equipped with two radiators that operate on different circuits.

Condensing units use combustion energy more efficiently. To the usual efficiency of 90–95%, another 5–10% is added due to the energy of gas combustion. These are the Minute Green and Exclusive Green lines. Among them you can choose options with one and two circuits.

The modulating burner automatically mixes gas and air in equal proportions. It is possible to switch to liquefied fuel. More details on the page “Review of Beretta gas boilers”.

The pump does not work - what to do?

If a failure of the circulation pump is noticed, it is necessary to stop the system and call a technician.

There can be several reasons for failure, from power problems to mechanical problems . The first reason is determined by testing and checking the condition of the pump motor.

The second reason can be detected by checking the condition of the moving parts of the pump, the absence of difficulties in rotating or moving parts of the mechanism, breakage or wear of gears and other elements.

The decision to repair or replace the pump is made based on the results of an examination of the performance and condition of the unit parts . If the forecast for repair work is favorable, the pump is restored, otherwise a complete replacement is necessary.

Other faults

Other damage may also occur. If you smell gas in the room where the boiler is located, you need to turn off the boiler and all electrical devices. Open the window and call emergency services. If you smell combustion products, there is most likely a problem with your draft. Inspect the chimney for blockages and its connections for leaks.

Delayed ignition may be caused by incorrect settings of the gas valve. If the coolant does not heat up to the required temperature, the problem may be a clogged burner or incorrect settings on the control panel.

Gas fittings for Beretta boilers

When the required temperature is reached on the boiler screen and the heating radiators are cold, this may indicate the following:

  • Presence of air in the system. In this case, it is necessary to remove excess air from the heating pipes.
  • Lack of circulation. It is necessary to inspect the heating system and the serviceability of the circulation pump.
  • The expansion tank is broken.

How to clean the heat exchanger

Beretta boilers are equipped with either separate or bithermal (combined) heat exchangers. In the first case, flushing gives a greater effect; the second type of heat exchangers is difficult to flush due to the design features.

There are two washing methods:

  • Mechanical . Requires disconnecting the heat exchanger from the boiler. The results of such washing are not particularly successful, since it is extremely difficult to clean the internal surfaces mechanically.
  • Chemical . Does not require dismantling the heat exchanger, but is done using a special device. It has a fairly high efficiency, is able to eliminate scale and extend the service life of the unit.

For washing, special reagents are used to dissolve scale and remove it from the internal cavity of the heat exchanger tubes. The procedure should be performed every 2-3 years, depending on the quality of the water. To carry out the work, you must invite a specialist from the service center .

What do the indicator signals mean?

In some models of Beretta gas boilers, for example Beretta City, the occurrence of malfunctions in the operation of the units can be judged by the signals of the red, yellow and green indicators.

The indicators are two or three light diodes located on the central panel, which begin to blink with different intensities when a particular failure occurs.

A blinking green indicator may mean the following:

  • 1 time/3.5 sec – the equipment is switched to standby mode, the fire is extinguished;
  • 1 time/0.5 sec – the boiler is stopped due to a breakdown;
  • 1 time/0.1 sec – the unit is switched to the auto-regulation system;
  • the indicator is on and does not blink - the boiler is working normally, the fire is burning.

Beretta City can stop on its own due to a breakdown if it receives a signal from pressure and smoke sensors.

The boiler may pause operation for 10 minutes, during which the correct parameters must be restored. During this time, the system will automatically scan. A detailed guide on how to check the sensor readings of a Beretta gas boiler should already be included in the self-diagnosis system.

The red indicator turns on in the following cases:

  • the indicator is on and does not blink - if after stopping the boiler operation is not established, the unit goes into emergency mode;
  • the indicator is flashing - the limit temperature sensor is triggered. Sometimes you can eliminate the error using the operating mode switch.

Simultaneous flashing of the red and green diodes occurs in the event of a breakdown of the NTC sensor.

The yellow indicator lights up and stays lit when preheating of the coolant in the circuit is turned on.

To eliminate all the above-described problems with Beretta gas boilers, it is strongly recommended to use the services of specialists from authorized service centers and organizations with which an agreement has been concluded for the maintenance of gas units and the supply of blue fuel.

Independent intervention in the complex design of boilers can lead to an even more serious breakdown, which will result in expensive repairs and a long shutdown of the autonomous heating system.
