Which convector is better: wall-mounted or universal?

Wall convectors are installed permanently on the wall, as the name itself suggests, like conventional heating radiators. Installation takes place on a bracket pre-attached to the base with tongues and hinges. With their help, the device is hung on the wall through the receiving holes and grooves on the rear panel. Wall-mounted convectors do not take up extra space and are smaller in size than conventional radiators with similar thermal output. A firmly secured device cannot be accidentally knocked over. Consider this advantage if you have small children at the dacha. Wall-mounted convectors can be installed in living rooms, auxiliary utility rooms, bathrooms and toilets.

Universal convectors can be mounted either on the wall or installed on the floor almost anywhere in the country house. In this case, be sure to observe the thermal clearances specified in the operating instructions. Universal convectors are equipped with disassembled supports with legs or wheels. To turn the device into a wall-mounted one, the user simply removes the supports and hangs the device on the wall using the same bracket included in the kit. Please note one limitation. The device must not be used in damp areas when installed on the floor. Thus, if you want to install a convector in the bathroom, you will have to hang it on the wall. Even then, there are some limitations depending on the type of heater.

Final results

When choosing a convector for a country house, think about how often you will use it and what type of energy is more profitable for you.

In the last section of our article, we will help you choose convector heaters for your dacha, focusing on various situations:

  • Accommodation at the dacha is carried out 1-2 times a month - you can get by with electric convectors. Take them to the city so that they are not stolen in your absence;
  • If your dacha has a gas supply, we recommend choosing a gas convector heater . This is a relevant solution for small houses;
  • For large country houses, electric convectors (in the absence of a gas main) or classic heating with radiators are recommended;
  • If gas appears in the dacha community in the near future, we recommend laying pipes and installing radiators.

Always take into account what energy resources are present in your dacha property and how often you plan to stay - this will help you choose the optimal convector heaters for your dacha.
