Ceramic bricks are divided into grades , and each of the three grades has the right to be used in the construction of a furnace, but only for certain work:

- quartz brick made from sandstone with the addition of a small amount of clay. The result is a durable glazed brick, a bit like fireclay. He is exceptional heat-resistant, but expensive, does not withstand exposure to aggressive chemicals and metal oxides. Its use is justified when laying heat-reflecting arches of stoves and fireplaces.
